HAIR: Healthcare Applications of Interactive Robotics is
an internationally leading robotics and healthcare technologies research team
based at the School of Biomedical Engineering and Imaging Sciences of King's
College London, UK. Our primary research areas are physical human-robot
interaction, wearable robotics, haptics, control and design of human-centred
robotic devices with applications to assistive, rehabilitation, surgical
robotics and neuroscience research. HAIR team was founded in 2017 at Queen
Mary University of London (UK), and it moved to King's
College London in 2024. HAIR team is led by Dr Ildar Farkhatdinov,
Associate Professor (UK Senior Lecturer) in Healthcare Engineering (medical
robotics) at King's College London. The
team is composed of postdoctoral researchers, Ph.D. students, and part-time
research assistants. Several final year Master and Bachelor students join the
team annually to work on their final year projects and dissertations. HAIR team
is part of the Surgical Intervention Engineering research department based at
St. Thomas's campus (hospital), central
